2013 Season - Week 17 (Cont)

BUMS Play-offs

And so we begin our knock-out game and the road to BUMSBowl XVIII starts this weekend. There are no rule changes so to refresh your memory here’s how our knock-out tournament works. It’s a head-to-head contest with the highest scorer in each game going through. You must select 1 QB, 1 kicker and any 4 outfield players to play within a budget of $7.5 million using the same player prices as the regular season. (See attached spreadsheet). You can change all players between each round and in each game no more than 2 players can appear in both teams. Please get your teams back to me as soon as possible and no later than by 1am on Saturday (UK time) so we can sort out any swaps needed. I will be in California so arranging replacements etc at the last minute will be difficult. Whoever gets their team to me first gets first pick of players to swap, if necessary, so a speedy reply is key. If the scores are tied at the end of the games the tie-breaker is the Momentum Rule where the player that scored latest in any game is ruled to have “Mo” and wins. The second tie-breaker is total yards rushing and receiving by your outfield players. As always top scoring owner plays lowest and so on, so here are the Wildcard match ups. Marcus will play David S, Chief v George, Aaron v Andy H, Craig v AP, Cheryl v Mark, Ron v John, Johnnie v Wayne & Daz v Dave G. (Aaron & Craig and Andy H & AP’s seeding positions were decided by Coin Toss as both pairs are tied on points. As a result our draft order tie-breaker will be used in both cases as mentioned earlier). NFL Play-offs In the AFC the champs are Denver (West 13-3) and New England (East 12-4) with bye weeks & Cincinnati (North 11-5) and Indianapolis (South 11-5) playing in the wildcard games at home to San Diego (9-7) and Kansas City (11-5) respectively. In the NFC the champs are Seattle (West 13-3) & Carolina (South 12-4) with bye weeks & Philadelphia (East 10-6) and Green Bay (North 8-7-1) playing at home to New Orleans (11-5) and San Francisco (12-4) respectively. BUMS on Seats. Johnnie, Aaron, Marcus and Chief are off to Pasadena to see Florida State play Auburn for the College National Championship so we will not be meeting for any of the Wildcard games. Here is this weekend’s schedule (all times UK):- 9:30pm Saturday – Chiefs @ Colts. 1am Sunday – Saints visit Eagles. Sunday 6pm – Chargers @ Bengals. Sunday - 9:30pm – Packers host San 49ers. DON’T FORGET, SEND YOUR WILDCARD TEAM AS SOON AS POSSIBLE!! A Happy New Year to one and all & GO ‘NOLES!
